MSpectrum Inc., a wholly owned solar subsidiary of the Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has partnered with the local unit of US-based Excelitas Technologies Corporation for a solar project in Laguna.

Under the agreement, MSpectrum will install a 116 kilowatt-peak (kWp) solar facility at Excelitas Technologies Philippines, Inc.’s manufacturing facility in Cabuyao.

Targeted for completion in December 2024, the project is expected to generate approximately 165,998 kWh of clean energy every year.

This will allow Excelitas to reduce its carbon footprint by an estimated 751 metric tons, translating to more than 5,430 trees planted and more than 470,000 kilometers reduced in vehicle travel per year.

“Partnering with MSpectrum is a step in the right direction for Excelitas Technologies Philippines as we do our part in being a good corporate citizen by harnessing the benefits of renewable energy. We look forward to doing more in the future,” said Ike Sonoy, Senior Director of Operations of Excelitas Technologies Philippines.
For MSpectrum, the project with Excelitas demonstrates the solar company’s continuing pursuit to help companies achieve more efficient and sustainable operations.

“With MSpectrum as their solar solutions provider, Excelitas is assured of world-class quality and reliable service throughout the duration of the solar project. MSpectrum is committed to delivering a solution specifically designed to help the company realize its financial and sustainability goals through solar energy,” MSpectrum Chief Operating Officer Patrich Henry T. Panlilio said.
